Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering is not just a requirement for families whose children attend The Midtown Academy. It provides them the opportunity to build community and grow together as a team, working towards a common goal.
Here are a few ways parents can volunteer at Midtown:
- Contact Rev. Wheeler, Volunteer Coordinator, to see what needs to be done. He can be reached at (410) 225-3257, ext. 202.
- Check with your child's teacher to see if (s)he may have anything that may help you with your volunteer hours.
- Join a school committee, group or organization
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as basketball, cheerleading, dance, chorus, community patrol, campus cleanup, etc.
- School supplies from $10 - $25 can be donated for up to 3 hours of credit per month.
- School clean-ups take place the second Saturday of each month
- Classroom clean-ups take place once a month, and include activities like cleaning of the Tae Kwan Do mats, washing art smocks and holiday decoration.
- Photographing/recording school events
- Donating school snacks, especially lots of water
- Daily lunch and recess duty from 11:30 - 1:30.
- Main Office/Volunteer Office telephone relief between 12:00p.m. and 12:45 p.m.
